We then toured up to Keswick enjoying the rugged fells scenery on the way. We loved the lake of Thirlmere but by the time we found somewhere to stop, the scene was very ordinary (most of these stops are for hikers' start points not scenery). From Keswick, we drove alongside Derwentwater (lake) to the small village of Borrowdale on the upper part of the Derwent River just before it enters its lake.It was really beautiful scenery. We have here a view of Derwentwater and Vija standing on the very narrow bridge across the Derwent River to Borrowdale.
