London Day 2

On Tuesday 9 June, we walked through Kensington and Hyde Park Gardens to the nearest ticket selling point of the day touring buses in London. We had lots of company on the walk because it was the beginning of the two-day tube strike. It was quite a walkj because we had not then come to terms with the size of these parks - the maps are very misleading in terms of scale - London really is a big place. I was delighted to spot this little squirrel out of the corner of my eye and to get a couple of photographs of him/her. It was totally unexpected. Anyway, we made it to the bus (explorer type) and things went fairly well at first but eventually the tube strike took its toll so it became very slow between the different sights. Another problem is that there is apparently a lot of work going on in London getting the city pretty for the 2012 Olympics so that causes a few diversions as well but we finished the day fairly satisfied.

  1. Hee hee hee...you and Luke will have to compare squirrel pictures. He took quite a few the first time he visited Portland. :)
